Our Mission

BRBLF is committed to impacting the quality of human and animal life through animal welfare, responsible research and education with the goal of reducing NHP usage in biomedical research.

Our Objectives

  • Create multi-disciplinary collaborations to explore and facilitate opportunities to conserve non-human primate resources.
  • Improve non-human primate models by focusing on their clinical, microbiological and genetic characterization.
  • Support innovative workgroups focused on global non-human primate research logistics.
  • Engage the global research community’s dialogue on the responsible use of NHP scientific resources.
  • Share information with the NHP scientific community by funding research projects and facilitating scientific exchanges.
  • Encourage new research paradigms which will accelerate scientific discoveries.

Our Milestones

Accomplishments 

  • Obtained 501(c)(3) non-profit tax exempt status. 
  • Collaborated with pharma, academia, CRO and governmental institutions in repurposing more than 800 non-human primates.
  • Received donations of unused caging and equipment which were redeployed to research organizations. 
  • Actively supporting the ongoing relief and recovery efforts for the Carribean Primate Research Center (CPRC) in Puerto Rico.
